SPRTechnote

Duplicate folder is created if folder name contains space at the beginning

Technote Number: 1179674

Problem:
This issue was reported to Quality Engineering as SPR# PTRI62FNT5 and was fixed
in Notes/Domino releases 7.01 MR and 6.5.5 MR.

Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Domino releases 7.0.1 MR and 6.5.5 MR fix
lists (available at http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/lotus):

Client UI
SPR# PTRI62FNT5 - Allowing folder names with leading spaces caused problems.
With this fix, the extra spaces are removed in a new folder name. When folder
name has space/spaces in the beginning, duplicate folder is created and the
subfolder name disappears.

If you haven't yet upgraded, don't use a space at the beginning of the folder
name.

TO REPRODUCE

1. In your mail file, create a folder (using Create --> Folder) and name it
"<space>one."

2. Create another folder the same way and name it "test."

3. Drag and drop the "test" folder underneath the "<space>one" folder.

4. Close your mail file and reopen it. You will see two folders with the same
folder name, "one." The first folder name is still "<space>one" but the
sub-folder underneath it, named "test", is missing. The second folder name is
"one" with the sub-folder "test" underneath it.

Refer to the Upgrade Central site for details on upgrading Notes/Domino.
